A new vial closure serves as a liquid solution dispenser and ensures the precise reconstitution of lyophilized materials and the complete mixing of two separate liquids.

The single-use device makes the reconstitution of lyophilized or liquid reagents and control materials significantly more convenient, and eliminates the imprecision and availability associated with manual pipetting. In addition to more effectively reconstituting a lyophilized material with water or a reagent, the device can also facilitate the mixture of two liquids just prior to use - of particular interest for physiologically balanced quality control formulations that would have improved stability when stored as two separate liquids.
